Release 2026.09.2 covers 26 to 29 September 2026. The headline is Team Comms: a full rebuild of Team Messages with calls, meetings and guest links. It also brings real single sign-on, a new patching engine, and a round of permission and billing fixes.

New features

Team Comms (Enterprise)

Team Messages has been rebuilt as a real-time comms hub.

  • Chat: direct messages, group chats, public and private channels and announcement channels. It includes threads, reactions, pins, @mentions, file attachments, read receipts, typing indicators, presence (available, busy, do not disturb, away) and message search. Messages can be edited and deleted. Your existing messages and channels were carried over.
  • Voice and video calls for up to 8 people, with screen sharing, device picker, reactions and raise hand. Calls keep running while you move around Plenix.
  • Scheduled meetings (or "meet now") with email invitations and a calendar entry. The in-call chat, shared notes, attendance and recordings stay with the meeting. Hosts can mute everyone, remove people or end the meeting for everyone.
  • Guest links: people outside your company join from their browser with just a name, with no account or download. An optional lobby lets the host admit each guest.
  • Recording and AI summary: record a meeting (everyone sees a REC badge), then generate an AI summary.
  • Extras: GIFs, memes, the full emoji set, channel colours, and a pop-out window so chat behaves like a desktop app.

Single sign-on (Business and Enterprise)

  • Sign in with your own identity provider over OIDC (Microsoft Entra ID, Google, Okta and others) or SAML 2.0.
  • Accounts are created on first sign-in, but only for the email domains you allow, and never as admins. Seat limits apply.
  • By default, SSO users still complete Plenix two-factor sign-in.

Patching

  • A background job engine for software and Windows updates, with live status for each device.
  • Software and Windows patching hubs.
  • A winget catalog showing the newest version available for each package.
  • Optional and preview Windows updates can be approved separately.

HR (HCM)

  • Batch expense and mileage claims: several lines in one claim, approved or rejected together.
  • Half-day leave, a leave balance shown while you book, and a claims history tab.
  • Overtime is paid at the rate on the employee's record, calculated for you.
  • New bonuses screen. Each bonus is decided once, and approved bonuses are kept.
  • Onboarding templates you can assign to new starters, each with a checklist. Only HR can make changes.

Ticketing

  • Pop-out tickets. Open each ticket in its own window, Autotask-style.
  • Absorb tickets: merge duplicate tickets from the same client into one.
  • Clearer activity. Every activity entry is labelled, tickets refresh live, and email senders are shown by name.

Also new

  • Accounting:
    • A period-close screen.
    • Credit notes can be voided or deleted.
    • An exchange-rates screen, where only admins can set rates.
  • Inventory: barcode scanning lookup, plus a barcode and QR code for every item.
  • Field service: the customer's signature now shows on the desktop work order.
  • CRM: a screen to manage drip sequences and recipients for campaigns.
  • Permits: one permit-to-work lifecycle screen covering every step.
  • Monitoring: alert triage is shared, so the whole team sees who picked up which alert.
  • Customer portal: customers can invite their own colleagues (up to 50).
  • Header app strip: standalone modules such as Team Comms sit in the header for one-click access.

Improvements

  • Plenix-styled dialogs replace all 262 of the browser's built-in pop-ups across the platform.
  • Better on phones. Dashboards, tables and the rest of the platform now lay out properly on small screens.
  • Faster pages. Dashboards and the homepage no longer render in visible steps, and the homepage scrolls smoothly again.
  • Toner levels show the real percentage reported by the printer, with no more phantom "offline" tickets.
  • Signup checks your email address before checkout and takes you to your own login page once your workspace is ready.
  • Remote support can now reach a machine sitting at the Windows sign-in screen, including Ctrl+Alt+Del, even when nobody is logged in (agent 3.69.0).

Changes

  • Team Comms is now Enterprise-only.
    • Direct messages were previously on Professional and channels on Business. From this release, the whole hub (messages, channels, calls, meetings and guest links) is part of the Enterprise plan.
    • Pricing, signup and the modules page have been updated to match.
    • If you're on Professional or Business and use Team Messages, talk to us about moving to Enterprise.
  • Single sign-on requires Business or Enterprise. Custom roles (RBAC) stay on every plan.
  • The MRR dashboard is shown from Professional upwards.
  • Printer Fleet is shown as an Enterprise feature on the marketing site, matching the product.
  • Staff sign-in. Plenix staff now sign in at app.plenix.cloud. Your company's staff continue to sign in at your own workspace address.

Fixes

  • Access roles now decide what a user can reach, with view, edit and full control levels. Per-user access grants that were saved but never applied now take effect.
  • Ticket reassignment no longer keeps the old person as primary assignee.
  • My Queue now always shows your own tickets.
  • Company edits: fixed an error when saving a company with invoice CC addresses.
  • Workload panel: Directors no longer get an access error, and assigned tickets are counted correctly.
  • Invoices: creating an invoice without a customer now gives a clear message instead of an error.
  • Signups: fixed self-serve signups that failed during provisioning.
  • Cancellations: cancelling or closing an account now also cancels the card subscription.
  • Reactivation requests reach our team, and admins get billing alerts.
  • Security devices: enrolled devices always receive a security policy.
  • Platform-wide sweep: we fixed broken links between screens and the API across several modules, hid menu links your plan doesn't include, and repaired help links.

Security

  • Plan changes and billing: closed loopholes in self-serve plan changes. Upgrades are charged pro-rata straight away, downgrades take effect at the end of the billing period, and each period allows one change.
  • Printer suppliers: supplier API keys are no longer returned to the browser.
  • Ticket rules: the older ticket-rule endpoints are now locked down.
  • Skills matrix: employees can no longer verify their own skills.
  • SSO: each sign-in link works once and expires quickly, and requests to identity providers are protected against being redirected to internal systems.
