Plenix 2026.10.66 — Time Off: policies, balances and bank holidays
Leave now runs on real policies. Give each group of people their own allowance, part-year for joiners, extra days for service and carry-over that expires, count days off around each region's bank holidays, block busy dates, see who is off on the team calendar and spot absence patterns with the Bradford factor.

The Plenix Team·22 October 2026·3 min readRelease 2026.10.66 adds Time Off to HCM (HCM → Time Off). It builds on the leave requests you already have, and comes with the HCM module. Plans and prices have not changed.
New features
- Types of time off. Holiday, sickness, study leave or anything you need, each with its own colour and rules: paid or unpaid, whether it uses a balance, half days, notice needed, the most days in one request, whether evidence such as a fit note is needed (always, or only after a number of days), and whether it can go below zero and by how much.
- Policies. Give each group of people their own allowances, chosen by department, branch, employment type, length of service or by name. Each person gets the first policy they match; anyone else gets the default policy. Set when the leave year starts and which days are working days.
- Allowances that work the way you do. Give the whole allowance at the start of the year or month by month, give joiners a part-year share, add extra days for length of service, and carry unused days into next year up to a limit, with an optional date by which carried days must be used.
- Bank holiday calendars. Fill in the standard bank holidays for England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland in one click, or add your own company days. Bank holidays are never counted as days off, and you can choose whether they come out of the allowance.
- Blocked dates. Mark busy periods such as year end. Choose whether people are stopped from booking or just warned, for which types of time off and for whom.
- Balances. Everyone sees what they have left and how it is made up: allowance, carried in, adjustments, taken, booked and waiting. HR sees everyone's balances in one table, can export it, and can add or remove adjustments such as time off in lieu.
- Team calendar. A month view of who is off, filtered by department, with bank holidays shown. Private types such as sickness show to colleagues as "Away".
- Absence analytics. Time off by month, type and department, the Bradford factor for sickness with review and action levels you set, and untaken holiday shown as a cost.
Improvements
- Booking checks before you send. The leave form now works out the working days as you pick dates, leaves out bank holidays, shows the balance left afterwards, and warns about blocked dates and when a large share of your team is already off. Requests that break a rule cannot be sent; HR booking for someone else sees these as warnings.
- Evidence and cancelling. People can add evidence to a request that needs it, and cancel their own time off before it starts. Their manager is told.
- Year-end jobs run by themselves. Carry-over is added at the start of each leave year, carried days that were not used in time expire, and people with holiday left are reminded before their year ends.
- Leavers. Offboarding now uses the same allowance figures to work out holiday owed on the leaving date.
Fixes
- Role permissions for newer Ticketing screens. Satisfaction surveys and status pages are now covered by the Ticketing permission in custom roles.
