Plenix 2026.10.26 — A general ledger, and journals that say who they are for
Accounting gets a General Ledger screen with running balances for every account. Journal Entries gain search, filters, paging and export, and every entry now names the customer, supplier or employee behind it.

The Plenix Team·7 October 2026·2 min readRelease 2026.10.26 makes the books easier to read. You can now open any account and see every posting behind its balance, and every journal entry tells you who it was for.
New features
- General Ledger. A new screen under Accounting → General Ledger lists every account with its opening balance, debits, credits and closing balance for the period you choose. Click an account to see each posting in date order with a running balance.
- See who each posting is for. Journal entries and ledger postings now show the customer who was invoiced, the supplier who billed you, or the employee who claimed mileage, expenses, overtime or a bonus. Click the name to open their record.
- Search and filter journal entries. Search by reference, description, account, customer, supplier or employee. Filter by type (invoices, bills, payments, payroll, mileage, expenses and more), status, date range, account, customer or employee.
- Jump to the source. Each entry links to the invoice, payroll run or claim it was posted for, and each line links to its account in the ledger.
- Export to CSV. Export the journal entries or ledger postings you have filtered, one row per line.
Improvements
- Journal Entries shows 50 entries per page with next and previous buttons, a count and a total for the current filters.
- Entries are labelled by what they are. Journals posted from invoices, bills, credit notes and payments now say so. They were previously listed as manual entries.
- Ledger views can be shared. The General Ledger keeps your period, account and filters in the address, so a link reopens the same view.
Fixes
- Payroll journals include pension and student loan deductions. A payroll run with these deductions now posts them to their own liability accounts, so the journal balances.
- Employee claims carry the employee's name. New mileage, expense, overtime, bonus and benefit journals record the employee on every line. Older ones are matched through the original claim.
- Dashboard change badges show the real figure for the period, and the IT Summary card fits its space.
